Congratulations to Minh-Chau Le on UFHCC Predoctoral Award!

Congratulations to IMG member Minh-Chau Le on being awarded the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) Predoctoral Award! The annual UFHCC Predoctoral Awards are intended to recognize and support outstanding predoctoral candidates who are conducting innovative cancer research. Under Dr. Hugh Fan’s mentorship, Minh-Chau is conducting her dissertation work titled: “Microfluidic Platforms for the Detection of Rare Cells in Sarcomas and Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.” 

Congratulations to Madison Chubb for MAE IDEA Undergraduate Research Fellowship!

Congratulations to IMG undergraduate Madison Chubb for being awarded the MAE IDEA Undergraduate Research Fellowship! This fellowship recognizes and encourages the academic achievement of students from underrepresented groups who aspire to pursue research careers. Under Dr. Hugh Fan’s mentorship, Madison Chubb will be conducting her work on engineering microfluidic devices for tumor cell isolation to study cancerous cells in the blood samples of patients. Go Gators!

IMG Professors Awarded Term Professorships

Congratulations to Dr. David Arnold and Dr. Saeed Moghaddam for being awarded the University Term Professorship! Each year, this 3-year award recognizes a maximum of 250 tenure-track faculty members across UF for their impressive academic contributions and achievements. IMG Member Receiving Best Paper Award at Hilton Head 2022 Workshop

IMG PhD student, Faysal Hakim, received the Best Paper Award (runner up) at Hilton Head Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems Workshop (Hilton Head 2022).

The award-winning paper is titled “X-Band Ferroelectric-on-Si Fin Bulk Acoustic Resonators with f.Q of 0.8*1013.”

Congratulations to Faysal Hakim on receiving this prestigious award, and for representing IMG well.

Alexander Reilly wins 1st Place at AIAA Region II Student Conference

Congratulations to IMG undergraduate student Alexander Reilly on winning 1st place in the undergraduate category at the AIAA Region II Student Conference hosted on April 4-5, 2022 at the Georgia Institute of Technology! Alexander gave a presentation titled, "Development and Fabrication of an Ultrasonic MEMS Anemometer for Use in Low-Pressure Environments". Great job Alexander! 

Shayla Breedlove wins 2022 Optica Amplify Black Scholars Award

IMG member Shayla Breedlove, a PhD student in the Multidisciplinary Nano and Microsystems (MNM) Lab, becomes one of 15 members of the inaugural class of OpticaWorldwide Amplify Scholars, which supports Black students and their passion for light science.

Shayla is supervised by Dr. Zmuda and Dr. Yoon. Congrats!
