Efforts include design, fabrication, characterization, and ultimately deployment of micro and nanotechnologies for a wide variety of applications. IMG is playing a leading role in the MIST Center (Multi-functional integrated system technology), an NSF I/UCRC program.

IMG professor Dr. David P. Arnold is a co-PI and the UF site director for a $26 million NSF grant focused on developing new technologies and systems for smart agriculture. The research funded by this grant will ultimately help U.S. farmers to stay competitive on the world stage!
Check out this research performed by IMG member Dingkang Wang and former IMG professor Dr. Huikai Xie featured in IEEE Spectrum! Their LiDAR-based sensor made from MEMS mirrors is offered as a low power solution to support the Internet of Things. Excellent work!
