Sheetal Shetye and Ilan Eskinazi will be presenting a poster at MEMS 2009 in Sorrento Italy entitled, "Part-to-part and part-to-substrate magnetic self-assembly of millimeter scale components with angular orientation"

PowerMEMS 2008

Shuo Cheng and Ben Bowers both got papers accepted to PowerMEMS 2008 in Sendai Japan. Shuo's paper, "A Multi-Pole Magnetic Generator with Enhanced Voltage Output for Low-Frequency Vibrational Energy Harvesting," will be presented as an oral, and Ben's paper, "Spherical Magnetic Generators for Bio-Motional Energy Harvesting," will be presented as a poster.

New Graduate: Dr. Yawei Li

Congratulations to Yawei Li on her graduation this Saturday with her PhD. Dr. Li's thesis is entitled "Side-implanted Piezoresistive Shear Stress Sensor for Turbulent Boundary Layer Measurement." Currently, she and her husband reside in Los Angeles, California. Congratulations! IMG is very proud.

New IMG Doctoral Student Awarded NSF Fellowship

Congratulations to Mr. Daniel Vilceus who has been awarded a Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship by the National Science Foundation. As a winner of this prestigious award, he will receive a stipend of $30,000 per year of graduate study, plus graduate tuition and fees for up to five years of study. Mr. Vilceus completed his M.S. degree at USF and will begin graduate study at IMG in the fall under Dr. Mark Sheplak.
