With the Fall semester arriving, we will be having our IMG Kickoff Meeting on August 21, 2018 (day before classes start) from 11:45AM to 1:30PM. During this meeting, we'll discuss important IMG updates, introduce new members, recognize our accomplishments over the last year, and present some IMG awards. We may also try to take a group photo, so if you have a IMG polo or t-shirt, please wear it.
Please note, all IMG members are expected to attend this meeting. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
Ana will defend her Undergraduate Honors Thesis titled:"Exploiting Micromechanical Resonators for Extraction of Acoustic Properties in AlGaN films" in Larsen 234 at 12:30pm. Snacks will served.
On April 8th, the IMG Faculty Member and ECE Assistant Professor, Roozbeh Tabrizian, received the ECE Excellence Award for Teaching. The Electrical and Computer Engineering College awards one faculty award per year in each of three categories: Research, Teaching and Service. We would like to congratulate Dr. Tabrizian on this accomplishment!

We congratulate Dr. Roozbeh Tabrizian for receiving an NSF CAREER Award for his project, “Active Nano-Acoustic Waveguide Matrix to Tackle Signal Processing Limits: Enabling Wideband and Nonreciprocal Integrated Communication Beyond the UHF.”
Dr. Tabrizian’s five-year, $500K grant will support his research on novel germanium-based nano-acoustic signal processors that enhance access to radio spectrum resources. These novel processors will work towards alleviating radio spectrum overcrowding due to scarcity, as well as enable ultra-fast data communication, required for emerging amenities in a modern society.
Mayur Ghatge will defend his PhD proposal titled "Linear and Non‐Linear Micro‐Acoustic Waveguides for Frequency Control Applications" at 03:00 pm on Monday, Dec 11th in LAR 234. Refreshments will be provided.
UF and IMG will be represented at the upcoming IEEE International Electron Device Meeting (IEDM) in December 2017 in San Francisco.
