Dr. Arnold and Dr. Nishida will offer the next BEN 230 Microfab chemical safety training/orientation on Monday April 1, starting at 10:00am in Dr. Arnold's office, LAR 213. Haixiong Tang’s PhD research with Dr. Henry Sodano titled “Ultra High Energy Density Nanocomposite Capacitors with Fast Discharge Using Ba0. 2Sr0. 8TiO3 Nanowires” has been published in Nano Letters (2012 impact factor: 13.198).
PhD candidate Haixiong Tang from Dr. Henry Sodano’s group has been awarded the 1st Place SPIE/ASME Best Student Paper Award at SPIE’s 20th International Symposium on Smart Materials in San Diego on March 13, 2013. In addition, Haixiong received the 2012 ChineseGovernment Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Studying Abroad, a prestigious Chinese government award given to selected students studying abroad in recognition of excellent academic achievement. Haixiong was one of 489 researcher from 29 countries selected for this award. Congratulations!
Dr. David Arnold was selected as one of four recipients of the 2012-13 Doctoral Dissertation Advisor/Mentoring Award by the College of Engineering. This award encourages and rewards excellence, innovation and effectiveness in mentoring doctoral students through their final dissertation.
Pitfee Jao, current IMG member, have been selected as a recipient of the 2013 UF-HHMI Science for Life Graduate Student Award.The award rewards excellence in graduate students who participate in research and publication opportunities in the life sciences in collaboration with undergraduates.
