DARPA Microsystems Technology Office has selected Dr. Saeed Moghaddam's proposal entitled "Thermohydraulic and Material Characterization of Nanostructured Wicks" to receive $0.8M in research funding. Congratulations, Dr. Moghaddam!
Please join us in welcoming Prof. Saeed Moghaddam to the IMG Faculty! Dr. Moghaddam is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department at UF. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 2006 and completed a Postdoctoral appointment at the University of Illinois U-C from 2007-2010. Dr. Moghaddam's research interests encompass the areas of micro/nanoscale transport and nanotechnology for energy science and health applications, heat and mass transfer in micro/nanostructures, fundamental energy research and reaction engineering, and portable power.

The Fall 2011 IMG Kickoff Meeting will be held on Friday August 19 11am-12:30pm in NEB 201. All IMG personnel are expected to attend. We will discuss IMG announcments, lab safety reminders, and a few other topics. The faculty will provide pizza and drinks.
Dr.Brent Gila will be giving a talk on the current status of NRF and the new state-of- the-art tools which offer capabilities that expand the NRF user base into new fields of micro/nano technology and research, and have enabled the traditional users to increase yield and productivity. Following the seminar there will be BBQ in the Larsen-Benton courtyard.
