IMG Seminar Series: Investigation and mitigation of abiotic factors affecting the reliability of chronic neural implants

This Friday at 11:30 AM, Vishwanath Sankar will give a practice talk for his dissertation defense. The title of his talk is "Investigation and mitigation of abiotic factors affecting the reliability of chronic neural implants". All are encouraged to attend to provide support and give constructive feedback on his presentation. Following this talk, there will be weekly IMG BBQ at the Benton/Larsen lawns at 12pm.

IMG Seminar Series: Delivering Energy to Surface-Conjugated Biomacromolecules & The IMG wiki

Two talks have been scheduled for tomorrow's seminar. The first talk will be delivered by a guest speaker, Adam Monsalve from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Adam will present his work on the methods of delivering energy to surface-conjugated biomacromolecules via alternating magnetic fields to control bioactivity.

In the second talk, Pitfee Jao will give a follow-up discussion on the use of the IMG wiki from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. All are encouraged to attend. The talks will be followed by the IMG BBQ at 12 noon.

IMG Seminar Series: Magnetic patterning of hard magnetic films for biomagnetic applications

This Friday at 11:30 am, we will have a presentation by Ololade Oniku on "Magnetic patterning of hard magnetic films for biomagnetic applications." This will be a practice talk for Ololade's upcoming conference and fellow IMGers are invited to provide constructive inputs for the presentation. The talk will be followed by the IMG BBQ at noon.

Proposal Defense - Dylan Alexander

Dylan Alexander will defend his dissertation proposal, entitled "Design, reliability-based optimization, and fabrication of a piezoresistive microelectromechanical microphone with back-side contacts for aeroacoustic measurements" at 8:30am on Thursday, April 18th in LAR 234. Refreshments will be provided. 

Per Export Administration Regulations, which apply to the content of the proposal defense (ECCN 9E991), no persons from a designated "terrorist supporting country" is permitted to attend. This includes citizens of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria.

Dissertation Defense - Lin Liu
