IMG Seminar: Transonic Flow over a Turret; Microfluidic Device for Second Hand Smoke Detection

At this week's IMG seminar, Benjamin George will give a talk to outline the initial steps in using flow control to improve the aero-optic performance of flow behind a three dimensional turret. Kiri Hamaker will speak on the topic of detection of nicotine metabolites for second hand smoke using micellar electrokinetic chromatography.

Matt Williams Wins College of Engineering Award for Integrity

Dr. Matt Williams, a recent graduate of IMG, has been selected by the UF College of Engineering as the 2011-2012 recipient of the Attribute of Gator Engineering Graduate Student Award for Integrity. As a recipient of this award, Matt is recognized for being "honest, ethical, willing to work for achievements (persistent, hard-working, determined), and impelled toward right action." Congratulations, Matt!

Shuo Cheng Wins College of Engineering Award for "Professional Excellence"

Shuo Cheng has been selected by the UF College of Engineering as the 2011-2012 recipient of the Attribute of Gator Engineering Graduate Student Award for Professional Excellence.  He was selected based the criteria of being "technically competent, skilled in management and planning, problem-solving, and scientifically insightful."  Shuo will be recognized by Dean Abernathy in an awards ceremony in August.
