DESCRIPTION:This week\, the speaker for the IMG Seminar is Dr. Ant Ural on 
 Low dimensional nanoscale materials and devices:\n\n\nLow dimensional nano
 materials\, such as nanotubes and graphene\, are promising candidates for 
 next-generation electronics\, photonics\, energy\, biomedical\, and IoT ap
 plications.  The role of low dimensional nanomaterials in next-generation 
 devices is not necessarily to replace silicon\, but to enhance existing te
 chnologies and integrate new functionality into silicon technology.  In th
 is talk\, we will first discuss our experimental and Monte Carlo simulatio
 n results on percolation networks of one-dimensional nanoelements.  Then\,
  we will talk about the fabrication and characterization of heterojunction
 s between low dimensional nanomaterials and silicon.  Finally\, we will di
 scuss some examples of chemical vapor deposition growth of nanomaterials a
 nd nanoscale sensors based on functionalized low dimensional materials.  T
 hese results provide important insights into the unique properties of low 
 dimensional nanomaterials and their integration into silicon technology.\n
